Essential Oils

I'm fascinated with some home-made facial and beauty concoctions these days. Most of them has essential oils such as sandalwood, rosemary, and tea tree. I searched for some of them on the net, and I just want to get a hand of all the scents! Shopping later at Watson's for some ;-)

Rosemary - Rosemary is known as the herb of remembrance. The plant produces an almost colorless essential oil with a strong, fresh, camphor aroma. It's used in many citrus colognes, forest and Oriental perfumes, and eau de cologne. Rinses for dark hair often contain rosemary, as do room deodorants, household sprays, disinfectants and soaps. Aromatherapy benefits: clarifying, invigorating.

Sandalwood - Sandalwood oil has a sweet-woody, warm, balsamic aroma that improves with age. The essential oil blends wonderfully with most oils, especially rose, lavender, neroli and bergamot. Sandalwood oil is also an excellent cleansing, astringent addition to massage and facial oils, bath oils, aftershaves, lotions and creams. Aromatherapy benefits: relaxing, centering, sensual.

Tea Tree - The leaf of the tea, or ti, tree had a long history of use by the indigenous peoples of Australia before tea tree was "discovered" by the crew of the famous English explorer James Cook. The aroma of the oil is warm, spicy, medicinal and volatile. It is occasionally used to scent spicy colognes and aftershaves. It blends well with lavandin, rosemary and nutmeg oils. Aromatherapy benefits: cleansing, purifying, uplifting.

Lavender - Lavender oil is used in baths, room sprays, toilet waters, perfumes, colognes, massage oils, sachets, salves, skin lotions and oils. It has a sweet, balsamic, floral aroma which combines well with many oils including citrus, clove, patchouli, rosemary, clary sage and pine. Aromatherapy benefits: balancing, soothing, normalizing, calming, relaxing, healing.

I ran across this song by Adele.. and am loving it.. ^_^ I can't believe that I'm 4 years her senior XD

Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements even if it leads nowhere?

Torso-Leg Ratio

I was looking at my pictures and I got conscious about how I looked. I think I need to fix that torso-leg ratio thing when picking my clothes.. I've read somewhere that for females, the most attractive leg length is 1.4 times the length of the upper body, the average is slightly lower and for males, the most attractive length is equal legs and torso length, but the average is higher.. Hmmm.. better get a tape measure tonight.

One Year Anniversary!

Time flies really fast, cliche but true. I can still remember how unprepared I was when I started working here at Sabre. After a rather unpleasant short 7-month stint with Safeway, then the unsuccessful attempt to work abroad, I landed on a 6-month contract job at Sabre, and now, I am a regular employee.

Personally for me, it was a blessing in disguise. Here, I had the pleasure of working with a lot of seniors who taught about Agile development, SVN, Maven, the proper way of developing with design patterns, and pair programming. It's not a perfect craft, but I must say, much better than other projects that I have worked with. I also had a chance to sing in the company events, i.e., Christmas party and office inauguration. So despite all the troubles in my personal life, there have been some progress in both my personal well-being and technical skills. I had been reprimanded several times for doing unsatisfactory work but hey, tao lang. The most important thing is that I am enjoying myself now. Less pressure, and better work habits.

I've said this before and yeah, I associate every good feeling I have right now with Sabre. I think God gave me this opportunity to get away from the old folks for a while, in order for me to find new friends, and experience new things. It's hard when you get used to the same people every day of your life, that they become a "benchmark" of how you should look, the way you act, what you should wear, what you should do with your life. This year had been such an emotional rollercoaster ride. In it, I found new friends, discovered who my true ones were, and who to trust and not to trust.

How real is the saying, time heals all wounds? and luckily, Sabre had been part of that healing process ;)

It's been 5 months now. BAD VIBES GONE.... FOR GOOD :D
